Book Discussion Group
The next meeting of the book group is tomorrow, Tuesday,
January 8, at 1:00 PM in the Ramada.
Led by Karen
O'Brien, the group will discuss A Man
Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. New members are
always welcome.
Attention Pickleball Players
New, cold weather start time is 10:00 AM.
EE Gardeners
The next Gardeners meeting will be January 16 at
9:30 AM at the Ramada. We will be cleaning up
the EE trail between Portillo and Holgado starting at
the Ramada. Everyone is welcome. Expect about 2 hours of
work. Bring gloves and a rake if you have one. We will
discuss plant needs for 2019 so bring your ideas. It
will be a good time for some fresh air, exercise and to
meet friends.
Keep Your Top On
Be sure when you remove your Christmas decorations
from your lamp post that you secure the top. This is
accomplished by making sure when you lower the top to
the body of the lamp head that the tabs overlap and the
top is secured firmly. If you don't get them connected
correctly, the next time it's windy your top is likely
to blow away, and if it can't be found, you will have to
replace the entire unit (at your expense) as the HOA
does not have any spare tops. If you have difficulty
securing the top, call Tom at 399-0455 for
assistance.
Dinner and Movie
Come join your neighbors at the Ramada for
a hearty, delicious bowl of New England clam
chowder or beef vegetable soup, salad and a brownie.
We will also be serving the usual libations. After
dinner, enjoy The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Some
British retirees (Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill
Nighy) decide to outsource their retirement to
exotic India. Lured by advertisements for the newly
restored Marigold Hotel and imagining a life of
leisure in lush surroundings, they arrive and find
that the Marigold is actually a shell of its former
self. The retirees find that life and love can begin
again when they let go of their pasts.
So put on your comfiest clothes and join us on Wednesday,
January 16. Social time starts at 4:30, dinner
will be served at 5:00, and the movie will start at
6:00. Price is $7.00.
2019 Ramada Sale
De-cluttering is a New Year's resolution that's easy
to keep thanks to EE's Enhancement Committee. The
annual Ramada Sale on March 2 is the perfect way to rid
your home of unwanted items. You can drop off donated
items at the shed next to the pickleball courts any Wednesday
from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Pick-up for heavier
items will be available after January 5th by calling Patty
Tracy at 520-444-4472. The committee will not
accept mattresses, hide-a-beds, clothing, paints or
chemicals.
The electronics policy has changed. Only working laptop
computers and working printers with ink cartridges will
be accepted. No other electronics -- TVs, cables, etc.
-- will be accepted. If you have a non-working computer,
you can take it to Best Buy for recycling. Donations of
electronics will only be accepted at the shed.
Periodico Pingo Correction
The date of the Enhancement Team's Pingo event is Thursday,
February 21, not Tuesday as reported in the
Periodico. Look for details about the event in a
future Monday Morning Memo in February.
